GL / Senior GL Accountant with French

Salary:

13.000 - 18.000 PLN Gross

We are currently looking for a GL / Senior GL Accountant with French for our client operating at a Big4-level consulting and reporting standard. The role sits in their EMEA finance structure and can be based in Poland (fully remote or hybrid from Kraków). As a GL / Senior GL Accountant with French, you will own the general ledger and closing activities for selected EMEA entities, with a strong focus on French entities.

Job description

  • End-to-end GL ownership for assigned entities (especially France):
    journal entries, balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, variance analysis.
  • Month-end, quarter-end and year-end close in line with US GAAP / IFRS and local (French) requirements.
  • Handling key balance sheet areas, such as:
    cash and clearing accounts, inventory for LRD entities, prepaids, other ST assets, fixed assets and depreciation, demo instruments and reagent rentals, payroll and related accruals, provisions, GR/IR, commissions/bonuses, audit and professional services accruals, intercompany loans and interest, deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.
  • Cooperation with payroll provider (internal / external) to ensure correct payroll postings.
  • Working in SAP (technical close, monthly extracts) and loading data into FCC or similar consolidation tools.
  • Preparing supporting documentation for audit, internal controls and corporate reporting packages.
  • Supporting process improvements and automation initiatives within R2R / GL.
  • Close collaboration with Senior Accountants, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Corporate teams across EMEA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in GL / R2R / accounting operations in SSC, corporate or Big4 environment.
  • Very good understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • French language at B2+ (ideally C1) – comfortable working on French entities and reading local documentation.
  • Working knowledge of French GAAP (or strong motivation to deepen it) plus experience with US GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP); exposure to consolidation tools (e.g. FCC) is an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
  • High attention to detail, ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work in an international, fully remote environment.
